Federalism v. Local Control: Localities that Defy Federal Laws

In recent years there has been a surge of localities refusing to cooperate with federal law enforcement agencies. There are an estimated 400 state and local governments with laws, rules, or policies that impede federal efforts to enforce laws. We will examine this phenomenon through the lens of federalism and the relationship of states and their localities.

Elected officials will come away from this workshop with a better understanding of current legal, legislative landscape and ramifications revolving around localities that defy federal law.
