Communities Proclaim Tax Freedom Day April 16th

The American City County Exchange has model policy that allows communities to highlight Tax Freedom Day to their constituents.  The proclamation recognizes Tax Freedom Day, which represents how long Americans as a whole have to work in order to pay the nation’s tax burden to local, state and federal governments. This proclamation raises the awareness of the burden taxpayers carry and encourages citizens to contact their elected officials to seek tax relief.
