Independent Women’s Forum’s Modern Feminist Portrait of Councilwoman Troxclair

The American City County Exchange’s public co-chair Councilwoman Ellen Troxclair was recently featured in the Independent Women’s Forum’s (IWF) Modern Feminist Portrait.

The article covers Ellen’s career, “as the lone conservative member of the Austin, Texas City Council.”

Ellen has focused on common sense leadership, economic opportunity, and combating cost of living increases. She famously was one of two council members on the Austin City Council to vote against imposing burdensome regulations on ride-sharing companies like Lyft and Uber. Although unsuccessful in stopping the legislation at the city level, she played a role testifying in front of the Texas legislature that later passed statewide legislation to bring ride-sharing back to the citizens of Austin.

Ellen has represented her constituents by being the conservative voice that would otherwise be missing. The American City County Exchange is always excited to learn from her experiences at our meetings where local elected officials discuss best practices and problem solving strategies for their communities.
